Nissan revived its low cost brand Datsun to mark strong presence in the growing nations including India and Indonesia. The Go hatchback is the first car from this low-cost brand. Based on the Nissan Micra platform, the small car is affordable as well as spacious. It is powered by a 1.2-litre engine that produces 67bhp of power and 104Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox. The small car is claimed to have an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 20.6kmpl. The Go hatchback is priced in the range of Rs 3.3 lakh for base variant and Rs 4.24 lakh for the top-end model. Though it doesn’t sell as much as some of its direct rivals, this is surely one of the best cars in India under Rs 5 lakh.

The hatchback received Maruti’s new AGS (Auto Gear Shift) technology in the last fiscal, and is now available with two gearbox options – a 5-speed manual and an AMT. Power for the WagonR comes from a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder K10B petrol engine with a displacement of 998cc. This gasoline unit belts out a peak power of 67.04bhp at 6,000rpm and 90Nm of torque at 3,500rpm. Maruti claims that the WagonR returns an ARAI-certified mileage of 20.51kmpl.
