Audi Q2, the smallest and most affordable SUV from the German luxury carmaker, is ready to hit Indian roads in coming weeks. Ahead of its official launch, the company has released the first teaser video revealing its silhouette and a few design bits. Based on the Volkswagen Group’s MQB platform, the Q2 sits below the Q3 in the Audi’s global product lineup. Here, it will be positioned against the cars like BMW X1, Mini Countryman and the upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLA.
In India, the Audi Q2 is likely to be offered in five trims packed with a 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine. The gasoline motor is capable to do 0 to 100kmph in 6.5 seconds, while maintaining a top speed of 228kmph. Its power and torque outputs stand at 190bhp and 320Nm respectively. Audi’s smallest SUV measures 4191mm in length, 1794mm in width and 1508mm in height. Compared to te A3, the Q2 is smaller but offers similar cabin and boot space. Upfront, the SUV carries a larger, single-frame grille and sporty headlamps. The black cladding on the wheel arches,bumpers and running boards further enhances its sporty looks. Similar to the global model, the India-spec version might get an R8-style blade on the C-pillar with multiple finish options. The square-ish taillamps and a wide tailgate adorn its rear profile.
Featuring the brand’s previous-generation interior design language, the Audi Q2 comes packed with several goodies including Audi’s MMI Navigation Plus infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a panoramic sunroof, a 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting, wireless charging, leather seat upholstery, electrically adjustable driver seat with height adjustment, and many more.
