All-New Swift To Be Unveiled in Late 2023 – Report

The Suzuki Swift hatchback is set to enter its fifth generation in the Japanese market this year. According to a recent report from Japanese media, the hatchback will have its world premiere towards the end of 2023. The sportier version of the Swift, known as the Swift Sport, will debut in its all-new avatar in 2024. In the Indian context, the next-generation Swift is expected to arrive early next year, possibly in February 2024. However, Maruti Suzuki currently has no plans to introduce the Swift Sport in India.

Let’s take a look at some key expected changes in the 2024 Maruti Swift.

One major upgrade will be in its powertrain. According to media reports, the all-new Swift will come equipped with Toyota’s strong hybrid technology. The powertrain is expected to include a 1.2L, 3-cylinder petrol engine with Atkinson cycle. However, the strong hybrid powertrain might be reserved for the higher trim levels.

The new Swift is reported to be the most fuel-efficient car in the country, with a mileage of around 35-40kmpl. Additionally, the hatchback’s new strong hybrid powertrain will comply with the CAFÉ II (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) norms.

The lower variants of the Swift are likely to continue using the 1.2L Dualjet petrol engine that is currently in use. It may also offer a CNG fuel option. The hatchback is expected to come with the same 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options. The new 2024 Maruti Swift Sport is expected to feature a 1.4L K14D turbo petrol engine with mild hybrid technology. Read – Maruti Suzuki Invicto MPV – All Key Details

Comprehensive changes will also be seen on the exterior of the Swift. The hatchback will have a more angular stance compared to the current generation. The front is expected to be revised with a new grille, sleeker headlamps with new LED elements, faux air vents, and a tweaked bumper. The Swift might feature new body panels, blacked-out pillars, prominent wheel arches, and a roof-mounted spoiler.

Inside, there could be a new SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity, Suzuki voice control, and over-the-air updates (OTA).
