All-New Royal Enfield Classic 350 Launching Tomorrow; More Details

The much-awaited new-gen Royal Enfield Classic 350 will finally go on sale in the Indian market tomorrow. The motorcycle will retain the original retro-modern classic design; however, it will get modern features, new platform and engine specifications. Except for the pricing, most of the details including design details and engine specs of the new Classic 350 have already been leaked on the web.

The new generation Royal Enfield Classic 350 is based on the brand’s new J platform, which first debuted in the Meteor 350.  Based on the twin cradle chassis, the motorcycle will offer better ride quality and less vibrations. Not just platform, the new Classic will also share the engine-gearbox combination and features with the Meteor 350 cruiser.

New RE Classic 350 Instrument Console

The new RE Classic 350 will be powered by a new 349cc single-cylinder fuel injected air-and oil-cooled engine that powers the Meteor. Royal Enfield will add counter-balancer shaft, which will reduce the vibrations. The powertrain is capable of producing 20.2bhp of maximum power and 27Nm of torque. It will be paired to a 5-speed gearbox.

For suspension duties, the bike will get 41mm telescopic front forks and twin gas charged at the rear. Braking system will comprise of 300mm front disc and 270mm rear disc. Both single-channel and dual-channel ABS system will be offered at the time of the launch. The new Classic 350 will ride on 19-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels shod with 100/90 and 120/80 section tyres respectively. Both spoked and alloy wheels will be on offer.

The new-gen RE Classic 350 will be made available in 11 colour options –  Chrome Red, Chrome Bronze, Dark Stealth Black, Halcyon Green, Halcyon Black, Halcyon Grey, Redditch Sage Green, Desert Sand, Redditch Red, Dark Gunmetal Grey and Marsh Grey. It will come with a new instrument console with a separate digital readout with fuel gauge. It will also get the Tripper Navigation system, which is developed by Royal Enfield in association with Google.

The motorcycle will be offered in single and twin-seat options. The bike will retain the original classic design, featuring retro-styled circular headlamps with chrome bezels, chrome-plated exhaust, round-shaped rear-view mirrors, a teardrop shaped fuel tank and prominent front and rear fenders. The motorcycle will get new tail-lamp and indicators, and new seat with better cushioning.

Estimated to be priced around Rs 1.90 lakh to Rs 2 lakh, the new generation Royal Enfield Classic 350 will be positioned against the likes of the Jawa, Jawa Forty Two and the Honda CB350.
