2021 Tata Tigor Electric Launched At Rs 11.99 lakh; 306Km Range

Tata Motors has officially launched the new 2021 Tata Tigor electric at a starting price of Rs 11.99 lakh. The new electric is now available for private buyers, while the X-Pres is offered for commercial buyers. Tata Motors has already started dispatching the new Tigor EV sedan to dealerships for customer previews and test rides.

The 2021 Tata Tigor Electric comes with cosmetic design and interior changes along with Nexon EV’s Ziptron powertrain. The Tigor EV is offered in 3 variants – XM, XM and XZ+ – priced at Rs 11.99 lakh, Rs 12.49 lakh and Rs 12.99 lakh respectively.

The new Tata Tigor Electric is offered in two colour options – Teal Blue colour and Daytona Grey. The new sedan comes fitted with the Ziptron powered electric vehicles, which is currently offered on the Nexon EV. The new powertrain is claimed to have significantly improve the overall performance of the sedan compared to the X-Pres T, which offers a claimed range of 213km.

The 2021 Tata Tigor Electric comes fitted with a 55kW electric motor and a 26kW lithium-ion battery pack. This powertrain offers 74bhp (55kW) of power and 170Nm of torque. It is claimed to offer 0 to 60kmph acceleration in just 5.9 seconds. This is significantly higher than the one offered by Xpres-T powertrain, which offers 41hp and 105Nm of torque.

The new Tata Tigor electric is claimed to offer a certified range of 306kms, which is close to Nexon EV’s 312km range. This is also the most affordable high-range electric vehicle in our market.

Talking about the charging, the new Tigor EV can be charged from 0 to 80 per cent in less than 60 minutes using a fast charger. It takes around 8.5 hours to charge the sedan using a home charger. The new model features a IP 67 rated battery pack. The company currently offers 8 years and 160000km battery and motor warranty. It gets impact resistant battery pack casing. The Ziptron tech also allows for regenerative braking system.

Design, Interior

The new Tigor EV comes with some design changes to keep things fresh in the market. Compared to the X-Pres T, the new Tigor Electric gets subtle design changes and more premium exterior and interior features. The sedan comes equipped with projector headlamps, LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps) on the lower bumper, LED tail-lamps and blacked-out wing mirrors.

Inside the cabin, the new Tata Tigor Electric has a dual-tone black and beige interior scheme. It features a 7-inch Harman-sourced touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, engine start-stop button and multiple drive modes.

For safety and security, the new model gets dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, a rear view camera, rear parking sensors, and others as standard. It also comes with connected car tech with 30+ connected features.
