All-New Mercedes-Benz GLA Bookings Open; Launch Soon

Mercedes-Benz has started taking pre-orders for the second generation GLA crossover in India. Scheduled to be launched in May 2021, the all-new Mercedes-Benz GLA can be booked online. The new model will be offered with new petrol and diesel engine options.

The all-new Mercedes-Benz GLA shares the styling cues from the bigger models – the GLC and the GLE. The SUV is bigger than the previous model, which should create more space for passengers. It gets new black plastic cladding all around the body, new grille and bumpers along with new multibeam LED headlamps. The SUV is fitted with revised tail-lamps with black inserts on the bumper.

The SUV will be offered with 17-and 18-inch wheels, while the AMG model will ride on 19-inch alloys. Inside the cabin, the all-new Mercedes-Benz GLA gets new 10.25-inch digital instrument console and an updated 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The MBUX system is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It gets new leather upholstery for seats along with powered driver and co-passenger seats with memory function. For safety and security, the SUV gets radar-based active braking assist, seven airbags, hill start assist, active bonnet for pedestrian safety, etc. In terms of features, the new GLA gets dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting in 64 colours, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, powered tailgate, etc.

2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA Engine

The 2021 Mercedes GLA will be offered with 3 engine options – a 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol, a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel and a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol. The 1.3L engine churns out 161bhp of power and 250Nm of torque, while the turbocharged diesel engine produces 187bhp and has an all-wheel-drive option. The AMG variant will get the 302bhp, 2.0L turbo-petrol engine and an all-wheel-drive system. All the engines will be mated to either a 7-speed Dual-clutch or an eight-speed DCT.
