Maruti Suzuki is currently testing the second generation Celerio hatchback, which is rumoured to be launched in the second quarter of 2021. A new media report claims that all-new Maruti Suzuki Celerio will be launched in May 2021. The new model will come with revised looks, all-new interior and features.
The second-generation Maruti Celerio will be based on the new lightweight HEARTECT platform, which also underpins the new WagonR and the S-Presso. The spy images confirm that the new model will have larger dimensions and will offer more space inside the cabin. The new model is also reportedly to be safer than the existing model.
The all-new Maruti Suzuki Celerio will come with a tall-boy stance with design cues from bigger Maruti cars. The hatch will have new grille, all-new headlamps and bumper, new door handles and re-styled tail-lamps. Some of the design highlights will be inspired by the Maruti Baleno, which is currently India’s best-selling premium hatchback.
The 2021 Maruti Suzuki Celerio will also receive all-new interior, which will be benefitted with new features. The hatch will get a 7.0-inch SmartPlay Studio infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. Adding to it, the hatch will receive a new instrument console, new dashboard, multi-functional steering wheel and new central console. The top-spec model could get automatic climate control and other high-end features.
The hatchback will come equipped with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, speed alert and others as standard safety features. The top-spec model could receive a rear view camera.
The new Celerio is likely to be offered with two engine options – a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder petrol and a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol. While the former is good for 83bhp and 110Nm, the 1.0L engine produces 67bhp and 91Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and an AMT.
