All-New Innova HyCross – 1st Toyota To Get ADAS, Sunroof in India

The all-new Toyota Innova HyCross is ready to make its India debut on 25th November, 2022. Prices of the three-row MPV will be revealed at the 2023 Delhi Auto Expo in January. The same model will be introduced in Indonesia as Toyota Innova Zenix on coming 21st November. Ahead of its official debut, we have got our hands on some interesting details of the Innova HyCross. It will be entirely different from the current-generation Innova Crysta.

One of the major differences is the new monocoque TNGA-C global platform replacing the ladder-frame chassis. The MPV will have front wheel drive (FWD) system instead of the rear wheel drive (RWD) setup. Compared to the existing Innova, the new Toyota Innova HyCross will have 100mm longer wheelbase measuring 2860mm.

If reports are to be believed, the new 2023 Toyota Innova HyCross will be the company’s first car in India to feature ADAS (advanced driver assistance system). The model will come with Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) that offers safety features such as adaptive cruise control, pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency brakes, lane departure warning, automatic high beam, road sign assist and dynamic radar cruise control.

Interestingly, the latest leaked 3D model image confirms that it will be the first Toyota model to have a factory-fitted sunroof. What else will be new on-board? Well, the MPV is reported to feature a 360 degree camera, ventilated seats, wireless phone charging and a larger touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

What will further distinguish it will its hybrid powertrain. The 2023 Toyota Innova will have a 2.0L petrol engine with the strong hybrid tech that includes a battery pack and an electric motor. Toyota is likely to use the localized version of the THS II (Toyota Hybrid System II) that has a twin-motor setup ensuring high fuel economy and ‘step-off’ torque. The new Toyota MPV will also be available with the 2.0L naturally aspirated petrol engine.
