Toyota Kirloskar Motor recently revealed full price list of its newly-launched Urban Cruiser Hyryder SUV. After the new mid-size SUV, the Japanese automaker will bring in the all-new Toyota Innova HyCross that’s reported to debut in November 2022. The hybrid MPV will be first launched in Indonesian market and make its first public appearance in India at the 2023 Auto Expo in January. Here, it will witness a market launch before the end of this fiscal year.
In Indonesia, the Toyota Innova HyCross will be sold as Innova Zenix. It’s essentially the new-generation model of the Innova underpinning an all-new platform with better design, new features and a hybrid powertrain. Here, it will be sold alongside the current-generation Innova. As per an Indonesian media report, the Toyota Innova Zenix (Innova HyCross) will come with Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) and an electric sunroof.
Just so you know, the TSS is Toyota’s advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) that offers features such as automatic emergency brakes, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, road sign assist, dynamic radar cruise control and automatic high beams. As of now, there is no confirmation whether the India-spec model will come with the ADAS and a sunroof or not. If it happens, the Toyota Innova HyCross will be come the brand’s first car in the country to feature the factory-fitted sunroof.
The hybrid powertrain of the new Innova Zenix will include a petrol engine, an electric battery pack and an electric motor. It could have a 2.0L petrol hybrid or a 1.8L petrol hybrid setup. The company is likely to use the localized version of its new THS II (Toyota Hybrid System II) that has a twin-motor setup for high ‘step-off’ torque and fuel efficiency.
