The new-generation Hyundai Verna was recently caught on camera during its test rounds in South Korea. The sedan’s new model will be first launched in its domestic market, followed by other countries. In India, the new Verna will debut sometime next year and its launch might happen in 2023. One must note that there is no official word on its India launch timeline. – The 2022 Hyundai Verna will follow the brand’s latest ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ design language similar to the newly-launched i20 hatchback.
– As of now, minimal details are available as the spotted test mule was heavily camouflaged. Though, one can notice the wide, extended grille that’s merging with the headlamps. Its design appears exactly similar to the new-generation Hyundai Elantra (global-spec).
– The sedan’s new model has a tapering roofline along with the angular taillamps connected via a reflective strip.
– Compared to the current generation, the new model is likely to be bigger.

– Both motors could be benefited with the mild hybrid technology with brake energy regeneration and automatic start/stop features. If it happens, the new Verna will comply with the upcoming and stricter CAFÉ standards. The mild hybrid system will make the sedan more fuel efficient than the existing model.
– The updated version will come with both manual and automatic gearbox options.
Talking about Hyundai’s future plan, the South Korean automaker is working on a compact MPV that’s reported to arrive in early 2022. Rumour has it that the company’s new three-row MPV will be named Hyundai Stargazer, which was recently unveiled in Indonesia.
