All-New 5th Gen Honda City To Be Launched Tomorrow

The long-awaited new-generation Honda City will be launched in the Indian market tomorrow. Interested buyers can pre-book the new City online or by visiting authorised Honda dealership. The existing model will be sold alongside the new City sedan. It will come in 3 trim levels – V, VX and ZX  – in petrol and diesel guise.

The new Honda City is likely to be priced around Rs 11 lakh for base model and Rs 16 lakh for the top-end variant. The new model will be positioned slightly premium over the Hyundai Verna and the Maruti Ciaz. In terms of proportions, the new City is 4,549mm in length, 1,748mm in width and 1,489mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,600mm. The new model is 109mm longer, 53mm wider and 6mm shorter than the outgoing City. It is the longest sedan in the category.

The new-gen Honda City will be offered with 2 BSVI compliant engines – a 1.5-litre DOHC naturally-aspirated petrol and a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel. While the former is good for 121bhp and 145Nm, the oil burner produces 99bhp and 200Nm of torque. The all-new 5th Gen Honda City is equipped with high-end comfort and convenience features. In fact, the entry-level V variant is loaded with features like projector headlamps, LED DRLs, LED Tail-lamps, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connectivity features, etc. In fact, the new City V variant comes with good amount of safety and security features like 4 airbags, ABS with EBD, 3-point seatbelts for all 5 occupants, VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist), Hill Start Assist and a rear view camera.

The range-topping all-new Honda City ZX variant gets features like 9 LED Array headlamps, integrated LED guide type front turn signals, LED front fog lamps, remote opening & closing of windows & sunroof, Lane Watch Camera, etc. The mid-level and top-spec model comes with 6 airbags. While the entry-level variant rides on 15-inch alloys, the top-spec model rides on 16-inch alloys. The entry-level variant also gets cruise control, engine start/stop button, Honda Smart Key System with keyless remote, and automatic AC, telescopic and tilt adjustable power steering, and power adjustable and foldable ORVMs.
