Toyota Innova Hycross is one of the much-awaited new car launches of next year. The model will go on sale in the month of January. According to a fresh media report, the three-row MPV commands a waiting period of up to 6 months even before its launch. The top-end ZX and ZX (O) variants and Super White and Blackish Ageha Glass Flake colour models are high in-demand. Both trims will be made available with the 2.0L strong hybrid powertrain only. The MPV will be the first Toyota in India to come with the Toyota Safety Sense suite of ADAS (advanced driver assistance system).
The ADAS suite offers features such as blind spot monitor, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, a pre collision system and rear cross traffic alert. Though, it’s reserved for the range-topping ZX (O) trim. It also gets automatic high beam. With respect to safety, the new Toyota Innova offers 6 airbags, traction control, electronic stability program, anti-lock braking system (ABD) and electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD).
The ZX trim comes with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the latest smartphone connectivity, 9-speaker JBL audio system, dual zone climate control, ventilated front seats, powered driver seat with memory function, quilted leather seats, powered leg rest for the middle row passenger, powered tailgate, a panoramic sunroof and 18-inch alloy wheels.
Powertrain setup of the 2023 Toyota Innova Hycross includes a 172bhp, 2.0L naturally aspirated petrol and a 186bhp, 2.0L strong hybrid unit. While the former will be available on the G and GX trims, the latter can be had with the VX, ZX and ZX (O) trims. The MPV comes with 7-seats (G, GX and VX) and 8-seats (ZX and ZX (O)) configuration options.
While its prices will be announced next month, the new Toyota Innova Hycross is estimated to be priced around Rs 22 lakh for the base model and up to Rs 30 lakh for the top-end trim. Here, it will be sold alongside the Innova Crysta that will also receive an update next year. With SUV-ish stance and premium price range, the new Innova Hycross will face competition from the Tata Safari and Mahindra XUV700.
