After EV6, What Will Be the Next Launch From Kia India?

Kia EV6, the new electric crossover from the South Korean automaker, has finally witnessed India launch. The model comes in GT-Line trim only, which is spread across two variants – RWD and AWD – priced at Rs 59.95 lakh and Rs 64.95 lakh respectively. Only 100 units of the new Kia electric car have been allotted for 2022. One must note that the EV6 will be available at select Kia dealerships in 12 cities and its deliveries will commence in early September 2022.

Now, the question is what will be the next launch from Kia India? While the company hasn’t yet revealed its future plans, it’s likely to bring in the Seltos facelift or the updated Carnival MPV. The new Kia Seltos is currently in its testing phase in its home market. If reports are to be believed, the SUV’s updated version will have several new features on-board including a fully digital instrument cluster, a 360 degree camera and a touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity features.

2022 Kia Seltos Nightfall Edition features

With the mid-life update, the new 2023 Kia Seltos might get ADAS (advanced driver assistance system). The suite will offer features such as adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking system, lane assist, blind spot monitoring system and more.

No changes are likely to be made to its engine setup. The new Seltos facelift could be offered with the same 115bhp, 1.5L NA petrol, 140bhp, 1.4L turbo petrol and 115bhp, 1.5L turbo-diesel engines. Transmissions will also remain unchanged. Reports suggest that the facelifted Seltos might be equipped with a mild hybrid technology. If it happens, the SUV will comply to the upcoming CAFE & updated BS6 emission standards.

2022 Kia Carnival

The new-generation Kia Carnival MPV might make its way to India in near future. The new model is bigger and more spacious than the existing one. Here, it could be offered with the 2.2L diesel engine that’s good enough for 200bhp and 440Nm. The oil burner will be paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
