The Indian automotive industry will witness some important new product launches, electric mobility solutions and technological advancements this year. While there will be a flood of new Utility Vehicles (SUVs/MPVs), the carmakers will also expand their small car product portfolio with some new launches. Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Facelift

2023 Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Prices

The South Korean automaker has confirmed that it will announce prices of the updated Grand i10 Nios hatchback on 20th January 2023. The new Hyundai Aura facelift will also go on sale on the same day. The 2023 Hyundai Grand i10 Nios facelift comes with a slightly improved styling including a new larger grille, new triangular-shaped LED DRLs, revised bumpers, 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and new LED taillamps. Inside, the hatchback has an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the smartphone connectivity, wireless charging, voice recognition and automatic climate control. Citroen eC3

Citroen eC3 Revealed

Citroen eC3 electric hatchback is ready to hit roads in February and the pre-bookings will open from 22nd January 2023. Powertrain setup of the EV includes a 29.2kWh battery pack and an electric motor mounted on the front axle. The motor makes a peak power of 57bhp and 143Nm of torque. The eC3 is claimed to offer an ARAI-certified range of 320km. It comes with two driving modes – Standard and Eco – and regenerating braking system. The carmaker says that the Citroen eC3 is capable to achieve 0 to 60kmph in 6.8 seconds and attain a top speed of 107kmph. It supports both the standard charger and DC fast charging. MG Air EV

MG Wuling Air EV

MG Motor India confirmed a new small electric car launch for early 2023. Called the MG Air EV, the model will be the second electric offering and the smallest car from the British automaker in India. It will measure around 2.9 meters in length. The MG EV will be packed with an LFP-cell battery that will be sourced from Tata AutoComp. The battery capacity is expected to be around 200-300km. It’s likely to have a single, front-axle motor generating power around 68bhp. In terms of features, the MG Air EV will offer a dual-screen infotainment system with two 10.25-inch panels, a sunroof, connected car tech, voice commands, etc. More details here…

Tata Punch CNG/Altroz CNG

Tata Altroz CNG

Tata Motors will introduce the Punch CNG and Altroz CNG models this year. Both features a 1.2L Revotron petrol engine benefited with Dyna-pro technology. The setup delivers a maximum power of 77bhp and 97Nm of peak torque while running on CNG mode. The Tata Punch CNG and Altroz CNG come with two CNG tank with a total capacity of 60litres. The tanks are claimed to made of an advanced material that prevent leakage and thermal incidents. The carmaker says that the small cars’ CNG models will offer a mileage of over 25km/kg.
