Republik Motor, which is a subsidiary of Republikorp that engaged in the defense sector, unveiled the Ksatria SUV and a pickup truck for the Indonesian market. Both models were put up on display at the Indo Defence Expo and Forum in Jakarata. It’s the largest defence, aerospace, maritime and security event in the world. Interestingly, both models are based on the updated Force Gurkha that’s introduced in India last year.
The Ksatria SUV is essentially the 5-door version of the Gurkha, which will hit Indian roads in the next couple of months. The pickup truck has a missile launcher in the bed area. Initially, both models will be made available only for the government agencies. The SUVs will be manufactured under Force Motors’ licence and later produced locally in Indonesia.
Under the hood, the Ksatria features the Mercedes-Benz sourced 2.6L OM616 diesel engine that delivers a claimed power of 91bhp and 250Nm. It’s the same motor that does duty in the India-spec Force Gurkha. Similar to the Gurkha, the Ksatria has 4WD (four-wheel drive) with low range and mechanically locking front and rear differentials. Transmission duties will be done by a 5-speed manual gearbox.
What differentiate the Kastria SUV with the Force Gurkha is the dual-tone Black and Beige interior replacing the all-black theme. In fact, its seats appear premium than the Gurkha. The SUV comes with 6-seats configurations featuring captain seats in the middle row and a bench seat in the third row. It has a ceiling-mounted AC vent module.
The front fascia of the Kastria SUV is exactly similar to the India-spec Gurkha. Upfront, it carries the familiar grille, headlamps with round LED elements, black bumper and pronounced hood. Though, the bull guard mark a difference. Besides this, the SUV comes with differently designed alloy wheels, LED taillamps with a grille, and spare wheel with a cover.
