Mahindra & Mahindra has planned a range of new SUVs for the coming years. The plan also outlines two XUV.e and three BE electric vehicles based on INGLO skateboard platform. Mahindra Thar 5-Door
The 5-door Mahindra Thar is reported to arrive towards the end of 2023 or early 2024. The off-road SUV is expected to share its powertrains with the Scorpio N – i.e. a 2.0L turbo petrol and a 2.2L turbo diesel. Though, the motors could be upgraded to deliver different power and torque figures. The SUV will come with both 4X4 and 4X2 systems and the standard manual-shift transfer case with a low ratio. Mahindra XUVe.8
Mahindra XUVe.8 concept based model will essentially be the electric version of the XUV700. The carmaker has confirmed that the electric SUV will be designed on the INGLO platform and will go on sale in December 2024. The concept measures 4740mm in length, 1900mm in width and 1760mm in height with a wheelbase of 2762mm, thus making it longer, wider and taller than the ICE-powered XUV700. The EV will be made available with the AWD (all-wheel drive) system and a battery pack ranging up to 80kWh. Its power output will be between 230bhp – 350bhp. More details here…
New-Gen Mahindra XUV500
Mahindra XUV500 was discontinued with the launch of the XUV700. Speculations are on rife that the XUV500 will make a comeback with a generation change to challenge Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder. The SUV’s new model is expected to witness a market launch sometime in 2024. In the company’s product lineup, the all-new XUV500 will be positioned above the XUV300 and below the XUV700. New-Gen Mahindra Bolero
Mahindra’s top-selling Bolero SUV will enter into its next generation in coming years. The all-new model will underpin the new ladder-on-frame chassis that’s already used in the Scorpio N and Thar. While there is no official word on its specifications, the next-gen Mahindra Bolero might get a new 2.2L turbo diesel engine sourced from the Thar. The motor pushes out a peak power of 132bhp and 320Nm of torque. The SUV could also be made available with a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine.
