Maruti Fronx Price Expectations – Tata Punch Fighter Coming Soon

Maruti Suzuki Fronx will be the first major product launch from the Indo-Japanese automaker this year. It’s essentially the Baleno-based SUV coupe that will be sold via Nexa dealership network. Bookings for the Maruti Fronx are already underway and its market launch is likely to happen in March 2023. The model lineup will be spread across five trims – Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Zeta and Alpha.

The entry-level variant of the compact crossover is expected to be priced around Rs 8 lakh and the fully-loaded variant might cost at Rs 11 lakh (all, ex-showroom). If launched in this price range, the all-new Fronx will take on multiple cars right from Tata Punch, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger to Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet. Currently, the Punch, Magnite and Kiger are available within the price range of Rs 6 lakh – Rs 9.54 lakh, Rs 6 lakh – Rs 10.94 lakh and Rs 6.50 lakh – Rs 11.23 lakh respectively.

The new Maruti SUV can be had with either a new 1.0L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol Boosterjet or a 1.2L, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated  petrol engine. Boosted with mild hybrid tech, both motors make power worth 100bhp with 147.6Nm and 90bhp with 113Nm respectively. The naturally aspirated unit gets two gearbox options – a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. The turbo-petrol motor has a 5-speed and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic transmission. One must note that the 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol unit will be available in Sigma, Delta and Delta+ trims with a standard manual gearbox. The AMT can be had in the Delta and Delta+ trims. The turbo-petrol motor will be made available in Delta+, Zeta and Alpha trims with a standard manual transmission. An automatic gearbox will be offered on the Zeta and Alpha trims.

Features such as a 360 degree camera, Head-Up Display (HUD), cruise control, leather wrapped steering wheel, 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels and dual-tone exterior colours are exclusively offered on the top-end Alpha trims.

The Maruti Fronx compact crossover also gets wireless charger, 6-speaker sound system, coloured MID in instrument cluster, height adjustable driver’s seat, rear AC vents, fast USB charging points, Suzuki connected car features, rear view camera, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity and many more goodies.
