The company has recently introduced the new-gen i20 hatchback and is now readying 4 new cars for India. Here is the list of 4 exciting new Hyundai cars to be launched in our market –
Hyundai Alcazar
The company is readying a 7-seater version of the Creta SUV, which is rumoured to be called the Hyundai Alcazar. The new SUV is expected to be based on 20mm longer wheelbase, which should help Hyundai to create more space inside the cabin. The longer version of the SUV will directly rival the likes of the MG Hector Plus, Tata Gravitas and the Mahindra Scorpio.
The new Alcazar has already been spotted testing in South Korea. The spy images suggest that the Hyundai Alcazar will receive significant design changes to make it look different from the regular model. The upcoming Alcazar is likely to be offered with 2 engine options – a 138bhp, 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol and a 113bhp, 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel. Both manual and automatic gearbox options will be offer.

Hyundai MPV
Korean automaker, Hyundai is readying an all-new MPV to rival the Mahindra Marazzo and the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. It is expected that the new MPV could use the Creta’s platform, which is compatible enough to accommodate 7-seater SUVs or MPVs. The new Hyundai MPV is expected to be priced somewhere around Rs 9 lakh to Rs 14 lakh. It is likely to be offered with 2 engine options – a 1.5-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. While the former is good for 113bhp and 145Nm, the oil burner produces 113bhp and 250Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic gearbox options will be on offer.

Next-gen Hyundai Elantra
It is expected that Hyundai will introduce the next-gen Elantra sedan in the Indian market in 2021. The new model will sit above the Tucson SUV in Hyundai India’s line-up. The new model was unveiled in March, 2020. Based on the new K3 platform, the new Elantra features new design language, interior and new engine options. In the global markets, the new sedan gets a 1.6L GDI Atkinson-cycle 4-cylinder engine. The electric motor delivers 32kW powered by a lithium-ion-polymer battery with 1.32 kWh of capacity positioned under the rear seats. The 1.6-litre GDI engine combined with the electric motor in Elantra Hybrid delivers a total output of 139bhp and up to 264Nm of torque. This engine is paired to Hyundai’s quick-shifting, six-speed, dual-clutch transmission.
The India-spec model is likely to be offered with the new 1.5L BS6-compliant diesel engine pushes out a claimed power of 113.4bhp at 4,000rpm and 250Nm between 1500rpm – 2750rpm. The petrol version could receive the BS6 152bhp, 2.0L petrol engine.

Hyundai AX Micro SUV
Korean automaker, Hyundai is developing an all-new micro SUV, codenamed AX, which has recently been caught in camera in South Korea. The new model will be positioned below the Venue compact SUV and will also receive an electric derivative. The new micro SUV will be positioned against the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso and the Tata HBX. This new micro-SUV is likely to be based on the k1 platform. It is likely to be offered with two engine options – a 1.2-litre NA petrol and Santro’s 1.0-litre petrol. Both manual and AMT options will be on offer.
