3 New SUV/MPV Launches From Maruti & Mahindra In Sep 2022

In September 2022, Maruti Suzuki and Mahindra & Mahindra will introduce a total of 3 new models in the SUV/MPV segments. The plan outlines the all-new Grand Vitara mid-size SUV, new-generation Eeco van and XUV400 electric SUV. Here’re key details of the aforementioned upcoming models.

The all-new Grand Vitara will mark Maruti Suzuki’s entry into the highly-competitive mid-size SUV segment. As per leaked information, prices of the SUV are likely to start from Rs 9.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The model has already received 26,000 bookings before its market arrival. Powertrain setup of the Maruti Grand Vitara includes a 1.5L K15C Dualjet petrol with smart hybrid tech (103bhp/137Nm) and a 1.5L TNGA petrol with Intelligent Hybrid Tech (115bhp/122Nm). While the automaker hasn’t yet revealed its launch date and details, reports suggest that the new-generation Maruti Eeco will hit roads in the month of September. Minimal cosmetic and feature upgrades are expected to be made to the new model, while its engine setup will remain intact. The van might get a power steering along with a few new features. Under the hood, the new 2022 Maruti Eeco will feature the same 1.2L, 4-cylinder engine that’s good for 73bhp and 101Nm. The Pune-based carmaker has confirmed that it will launch the Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV in September 2022. It’s essentially the electric iteration of the XUV300 subcompact SUV. Interestingly, the electric XUV400 will be longer and more spacious than its petrol counterpart. Just so you know, the model was first showcased in its concept avatar at the 2020 Auto Expo. The company will source the high-energy-dense NMC cells from LG Chem for the EV. The XUV400 is likely to deliver a range of over 400km on a full charge.
