3 New Strong Hybrid SUVs/MPV Launches In 2023

The strong hybrid cars are gradually getting popularity among buyers, thanks to their high fuel efficiency. Car manufacturers such as Maruti Suzuki, Toyota Kirloskar Motor and Honda Cars India took a lead in the segment with their models, which are performing well in terms of sales. In coming months, there will be three more new strong hybrid models in the country. Let’s take a look at the key details of the upcoming strong hybrid SUVs and MPV.

Honda Midsize SUV

New Honda SUV Launch

Honda’s new midsize SUV will make its global debut in May and its launch is likely to happen near around 2023 festive season. Its engine specifications are still under the wraps. Though, it’s reported to come with the 1.5L iVTEC petrol and 1.5L Atkinson cycle with e:HEV hybrid tech powertrains, borrowed from the City sedan. The strong hybrid setup delivers a peak power of 109bhp and 253Nm of torque. The standard gasoline unit makes 121bhp and 145Nm of torque. Nissan X-Trail

Nissan X-Trail Hybrid

Nissan X-Trail, the upcoming three-row premium SUV from the Japanese automaker, will take on the Toyota Fortuner in India. Its market launch is slated to take place in mid 2023. The model will underpin the Renault-Nissan’s CMF-C platform and come with the two powertrains – 1.5L turbo petrol with mild hybrid tech and 1.5L turbo petrol with strong hybrid system. While the former makes 163PS with 300Nm, the latter one delivers 204PS with 300Nm (2WD) and 213PS with 525Nm (AWD). The SUV will offer features such as ADAS, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster, a 10.8-inch HUD unit, electronic parking brake, etc. More details here…

New Maruti MPV

Upcoming Maruti MPV

Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming 7-seater MPV, which will essentially be the rebadged version of the Toyota Innova Hycross, is reported to debut by August 2023. It will be the most expensive offering from the Indo-Japanese automaker in India that will be sold via Nexa dealerships. Based on the monocoque TNGA-C platform, the new Maruti MPV will be made available with the 2.0L Atkinson cycle and 2.0L naturally aspirated petrol engines. The strong hybrid setup makes a top power of 184bhp with an e-Drive transmission and the petrol unit delivers power worth 172bhp and 205Nm of torque. More details here…
