The Indo-Japanese automaker is working on a new compact SUV coupe (codename YTB) that will derive its design inspiration from the Futuro-e concept. Just so you know, the Maruti Futuro-e concept made its debut at the 2020 Auto Expo. It’s likely to be designed on the brand’s lightweight Heartect platform that underpins several Maruti cars. In the company’s product lineup, the new Maruti Coupe SUV will sit above the new Brezza. Here, it will be retailed via Maruti Suzuki’s Nexa dealership network. As of now, details of the model are scanty. Though, it’s expected to be packed with advanced goodies and share some of its components with the upcoming Baleno facelift and new-generation Brezza. Rumour has it that the Maruti Coupe SUV could be powered by a 1.5L petrol engine along with an electric powertrain.

If reports are to be believed, the production-ready version of the Mahindra Coupe SUV could be named – Mahidnra XUV900. The model, which is in its initial testing phase, will be the first SUV to be designed by Pratap Bose – Mahidnra & Mahindra’s Global Design Head. Its design and styling might share resemblance with the Mahindra XUV500 Aero concept that was previewed at the 2016 Auto Expo. It will be the new flagship SUV in the company’s product lineup. Speculations are on rife that the Mahindra XUV900 could be made available with the 2.0L turbo petrol and 2.2L mHawk diesel engines, which are offered on the XUV700 SUV model lineup. Both manual and automatic gearboxes will be on offer. The higher trims could be exclusively offered with the AWD (all-wheel drive) system.
