Audi India has confirmed that it will launch the updated Q7 SUV in January 2022. Just so you know, the model was discontinued in India with the implementation of the BS6 emission norms in April 2020. The new 2022 Audi Q7 facelift will witness noticeable cosmetic changes and feature upgrades along with a petrol-only guise. Here, it will continue to take on the BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz GLE and Volvo XC90.
The SUV will source power from a 3.0L, V6 turbocharged petrol engine paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox and Audi’s Quattro AWD system. The motor, booted with a 48V mild hybrid system, pushes out a peak power of 340bhp and 500Nm of torque. The new 2022 Audi Q7 might also be offered with the 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbo petrol motor that’s good for 252bhp. Unlike the global model that comes with multiple diesel engines, the India-spec version will devoid of oil burner.
Talking about design changes, the new Q7 will carry a larger, octagon-shaped single frame grille featuring upright slats, sportier bumper with two-part side air inlets, thick cladding and L-shaped air splitter. The HD matrix LED tech with Audi laser light will come as an option. Some of its other design highlights will include newly-designed 19-inch alloy wheels, new taillamps connected via a chrome strip and updated ear bumper. Compared to outgoing model, the new one is 11mm longer measuring 5063mm in length. Its width (1970mm) and height (1741mm), however, remain unchanged.
Comprehensive updates will be made inside the cabin. It will have lots of advanced goodies on offer along with piano black, chrome and brushed aluminum highlights. One of the major changes will come in the form of a new dashboard with an integrated Audi’s twin-touchscreen MMI infotainment system. The info unit has two displays measuring 10.1-inch and 8.6-inch (for the climate controls). The SUV will have a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster along with the Virtual Cockpit system.
The list of features will also include a Bang and Olufsen sound system, four zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, head-up display (optional), new LTE Advanced connectivity, natural voice control, a Wi-Fi hotspot, Audi connect portfolio, cloud-based Amazon voice service Alexa, an electric tailgate, an electromechanical active roll stabilization (optional), all-wheel steering (optional), adaptive air suspension and more.
