Kia had showcased the KA4 concept at the 2023 Auto Expo. It is essentially the new Carnival, which is on sale in select international markets. Now, the Korean automaker has revealed the updated version of the India-bound Carnival. The 2024 Kia Carnival has received subtle design changes, while interior images are yet to be revealed.
Kia has fully redesigned the headlights and tail-lights of the Carnival MPV. The 2024 Kia Carnival comes with revised front fascia with an updated front grille with different patterns depending on the trim level. The Gravity trim of the MPV comes with dark metallic accents. It comes with a revised front bumper with a cleaner design, and the separate fog lights have been removed. At the back, the license plate is now placed lower on the tailgate.
Similar to the front, the rear of the 2024 Kia Carnival now has cleaner design. There’s no more visible handle to open the tailgate. The taillights have been revised and the Kia logo is now moved slightly lower to give a clear look at the extended lights. The rear bumper now accommodates narrower lights, while the metallic trim covers the entire base.
Kia has not revealed the interior images; however, it is reportedly to get the curved screens and fingerprint recognition tech. The new Carnival will also receive ADAS tech with features like autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane assist, adaptive cruise control and others.
The biggest change is expected under the hood. It will receive a hybrid powertrain with a turbocharged 1.6-litre gasoline engine and an electric motor from the Sorento. The combined power output stands at 227bhp and 350Nm of torque. The India-spec model is most likely to get the 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine with manual and automatic gearbox options.
