2 Tata Electric SUVs Launching in 2023

For the first time, the sales of electric vehicles (EVs) reached to 1 million in the last fiscal year (2022-23). The Indian automobile industry registered a total EV sales of 1,152,021 units including two, three and four wheelers. In the passenger vehicle (PV) segment, Tata Nexon EV is most popular choice among buyers. Last year, the compact electric SUV achieved a sales milestone of 35 lakh units. In order to boost its EV sales, the home-grown automaker will give update to the Nexon EV and it will also bring in the electric iteration of the Punch micro SUV. While the former will go on sale by August, the latter is reported to hit roads during 2023 festive season. Here’re some key details of the upcoming Tata electric SUVs.

Tata Nexon EV Facelift

Tata Nexon EV Max Range

The updated Tata Nexon and Nexon EV are likely to come together in coming months. A few noticeable changes are expected to be made inside and out. Similar to the regular mode. the 2023 Tata Nexon EV might receive a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a new digital instrument cluster. Powertrain setup, however, will remain unchanged. The Nexon EV Prime will use the same 129bhp electric motor and 30.2kWh battery and the long-range EV Max will come with the 40.5kWh battery pack and 143bhp electric motor. The Tata Punch EV will be built on the brand’s new Sigma platform, which is the modified version of the SUV’s existing Alfa architecture. Its specifications are still under the wraps. Though, it’s likely to use Tata’s Ziptroen technology that consists of a permanent magnet synchronous motor and a battery pack. If reports are to be believed, the Punch EV might feature the 26kWh and 30.2kWh batteries borrowed from the Tiago EV and Nexon EV. On the exterior, it will carry a closed-off grille, differently designed bumpers and wheels. A few EV-specific elements will also be seen inside the cabin. More details here…
