2023 Kia Sonet Facelift Launch Details – What To Expect?

Kia Sonet, the subcompact SUV from the South Korean automaker, has been doing well in terms of sales since its market arrival. Now, the company is planning to give it a mid-life update in the second half of 2023. A test mule of the new 2023 Kia Sonet facelift was recently caught on camera wearing heavy camouflage. Here’re some expected key details of the upcoming model.

Heavily Updated Front

Significant updates are expected to be made on the exterior. The new Sonet a completely revised front fascia with a newly-designed grille in piano black finish, tweaked bumper, sharply designed headlamps and larger fog lamps. Both headlamps and fog lamps could be connected via a vertically positioned LED DRLs or turn indicators. The facelifted model could get different side doors and body cladding along with a new set of alloy wheels. Compared to the current version, the new one will have flatter tailgate design. There will be revised L-shaped taillamps as we have seen in the new Seltos.

Interior of the new 2023 Kia Sonet is likely to have some new goodies including new upholstery and interior theme. The subcompact is already equipped with features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the latest smartphone connectivity and voice commands, 7-speaker Bose audio system, air purifier, UVO connected car tech, ventilated front seats, leatherette upholstery and door trims, tyre pressure monitor, LED sound mood lighting, hill start assist, electronic stability control, traction control, drive modes, front parking sensors, wireless phone charger, 6 airbags, cruise control, Isofix child seat mounts, and more.

Same Engine-Gearbox Combs

No changes are expected to be made under the hood. The new 2023 Kia Sonet facelift will be available with the same 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol, 1.0L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel engines. While the 1.2L NA and 1.0L turbo gasoline motors make 83bhp and 120bhp respectively, the oil burner delivers 115bhp.
