Kia India introduced its first electric crossover – EV6 – in RWD and AWD variants in June 2022. Initially, the company allocated only 100 units of the model, which are retailed via 15 dealerships in 12 cities. Though, its demand exceeded twice the expectations and the company delivered over 400 units in the last seven months Now, the South Korean automaker announced that it will start accepting bookings for the 2023 Kia EV6 from coming 15th April.
Furthermore, Kia will expand its dealership network to 60 showrooms across 44 cities. It will also setup the 150kW high-speed charger network to all 60 outlets. The 2023 Kia EV6 GT Line RWD and GT Line AWD variant have been priced at Rs 60.95 lakh and Rs 65.95 lakh respectively. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom.
The electric crossover comes with a single 77.4kWh battery pack and single motor, RWD and dual motor, AWD setups. While its RWD version delivers a claimed power of 229bhp and 350Nm of torque, the AWD variant makes a top power of 325bhp and 605Nm of torque. The AWD version can do 0 to 100kmph in 5.2 seconds and offers a range of 528km on the WLTP cycle. Its battery can be juiced up from 10 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes via a fast 350kW DC charger. For home charging, buyers get a 22kW wall box charger as standard.
Similar to the Hyundai Ioniq 5, the Kia EV6 underpins the brand’s E-GMP platform. It’s range-topping GT-Line variant comes with features such as a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the latest smartphone connectivity, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 14-speaker Meridian sound system, augmented reality HUD, 10-way powered and ventilated front seats, surround view camera, 60+ connected car features, 8 airbags, ADAS and powered tailgate. The electric crossover is available in five colours – Moonscape, Yacht Blue, Snow White Pearl, Aurora Black Pearl and Runway Red.
