Hero MotoCorp and Harley-Davidson have been co-developing a new middleweight motorcycle for the global and Indian market. The model will have two derivatives that will be retailed separately through the sales network of both brands. While its official launch timeline is yet to be announced, the bike is reported to hit roads towards the end of 2023. It will be the Made-in-India Harely-Davidson motorcycle that was recently seen at Hero’s Jaipur based CIT R&D facility. And here’re the first images of the upcoming Hero-Harley bike.

The new Made-in-India Harley-Davidson bike has been designed at the company’s Milwaukee center, while Hero will be responsible for its development and testing procedure. In terms of design, the model will look different from the Harley-Davidson X350 that was launched in China last month. It seems to share some of its design elements from the Harley’s Sportster bikes and XR 1200X.

The bike carries a round LED headlight along with the LED DRLs, LED turn indicators, wide handlebars, a muscular fuel tank, split grab rail, a single-piece seat and a TFT instrument cluster. It’s likely to have a basic console display showing information such as tachometer, speedometer, clock and fuel gauge. It will be assembled with the 18-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels and CEAT Zoom Cruz tyres.

For power, the new Hero-Harley bike will use a new air/oil-cooled 420cc, single-cylinder engine paired to a 6-speed gearbox with slip and assist clutch. The bike will come with the telescopic fork upfront and twin shock absorbers at the rear. Braking duties will be done by Bybre front and rear disc brakes, which will be further assisted by dual-channel ABS (antilock braking system).

Prices of the new Hero-Harley 400cc bike are likely to be more or less around Rs 2.5 lakh. It will be the smallest offering from Harley-Davidson in India. Once launched, it will take directly on the Royal Enfield Classic 350 that costs between Rs 1.93 lakh – Rs 2.21 lakh (ex-showroom).
