The new-generation Hyundai Verna series production has been commenced at the company’s Chennai-based facility. The sedan’s new model, which is slated to go on sale on 21st March, will take on the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City, Skoda Slavia and Volkswagen Virtus. Most Powerful Sedan
The new Verna model lineup will be made available in EX, S, SX and SX (O) trims and two petrol engine options – 1.5L turbo and 1.5L naturally aspirated. The naturally aspirated petrol motor can be had with either a 6-speed manual or an iVT gearbox. Its power and torque outputs stand at 113bhp and 144Nm respectively. The turbo-petrol unit pushes out a peak power of 160bhp and 253Nm of torque, thus making it the most powerful vehicle in its segment. It will be offered with the 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission options. The carmaker has calibrated both motors to make them E20 ethanol-blend fuel compliant.
ADAS Suite
The carmaker will introduce the new Verna with the Advanced Driver Assistance System offering features such as autonomous emergency braking, blind spot indication, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, forward collision avoidance assist, rear cross traffic collision avoidance assist, lane keep assist, cruise control, driver attention warning, emergency braking system and more. Just so you know, its arch rival – Honda City also comes with the ADAS tech.
New Colours
The new 2023 Hyundai Verna will get three new single-tone colours, namely, Tellurian Brown, Abyss Black and Atlas White. There will also be four more monotone and two dual-tone shades.
Improved Design
The new Verna will witness comprehensive design changes. The sedan will carry Hyundai’s new Sensuous Sportiness design language along with a newly-designed grille and headlamps with split setup, revised front bumper and full-width LED DRL strip running across the bonnet. When you moved towards its side, the model look less or more similar to the current generation. It has a sloping roofline and diamond cut alloy wheels. At the back, it has revised LED taillamps and an LED bar running across the width of the boot lid. The new 2023 Hyundai Verna will be bigger than the outgoing model.
