After introducing the Unicorn & Dio, Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India has launched the new OBD2 compliant 2023 Shine 125. The new 2023 Honda Shine 125 is available at a price of Rs 79,800 for the base drum brakes variant and Rs 83,800 for the disc brake variant (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The 2023 Honda Shine 125 is powered by the same 125cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with Fuel-Injection tech, which is boosted by enhanced Smart Power (eSP) and Honda ACG starter. Paired to a 5-speed gearbox, this powertrain is capable of producing 10.74PS of power and 11Nm of torque. The engine is now OBD2 and E20 fuel compliant. The ACG starter starts the engine jolt free via the same AC generator used to generate current and charge the battery while riding. This eliminates the need for a conventional starter motor, thus, there are no gear meshing noises.
The motorcycle gets telescopic front forks and five-step adjustable rear springs. For braking, the base model has drum brakes on both wheels. The top-end model has front disc brake and rear drum brake. It comes with an engine start/stop switch, a high beam flasher, a combined braking system, tubeless tyres, etc. The motorcycle is available in 5 colours – Black, Geny Gray Metallic, Matte Axis Gray, Rebel Red Metallic, and Decent Blue Metallic.
The new Honda Shine 125 has not received any design changes. It gets a single-pod headlamp unit with a body-coloured cowl, a body-coloured front fender, a single-piece seat, and a five-spoke alloy wheel wrapped in tubeless tyres. To give it a visual appeal, the company has added chrome treatment on the headlight cowl, side panels and muffler heat cover.
