2022 Tata Nexon EV With Long-Range Launching On 11th May

The much-awaited 2022 Tata Nexon EV with long range will be launched in the Indian market on May 11, 2022. The electric compact SUV will receive a larger battery pack offering longer range along with a few cosmetic and feature upgrades. While its official details are yet to be revealed by the carmaker, the long-range Tata Nexon EV is likely to come with a new 40kWh battery pack. The new Nexon EV is likely to deliver a range over 400km on a single charge. In real world conditions, it will be around 300km – 320km. The company will also provide a more powerful 6.6kW AC charger with the electric SUV. At present, the model comes with a 30.2kWh battery pack delivering an ARAI-certified range of 312km on a full charge. It’s available with a 3.3kW AC charger that can be juiced up in 10 hours.

With this update, the new 2022 Tata Nexon EV might also receive selectable regeneration modes. It will help improving its range by allowing to adjust the intensity of the regenerating braking. Just so you know, the EV’s existing model has a non-adjustable regeneration braking system.

As mentioned above, the long-range Tata Nexon EV will come with some extra goodies. Similar to its ICE counterpart, the electric SUV is likely to receive ventilated front seats, an air purifier, a park mode, cruise control and electronic stability program (ESP). Rumour has it that the company will continue to retail the SUV’s 30.2kWh model alongside the longer-range version. The new one is expected to be priced around Rs 3 lakh – Rs 4 lakh premium over the current model. Currently, it’s available in XM, XZ+ and XZ+ LUX variants that cost Rs 14.54 lakh, Rs 15.95 lakh and Rs 16.95 lakh respectively. There are two Dark Editions – XZ+ and XZ+ LUX – priced at Rs 16.29 lakh and Rs 17.15 lakh respectively. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom.
