Japanese automaker, Suzuki will unveil the next generation 2022 Suzuki S-Cross in Europe on November 25th, 2021. The new model is reportedly to be launched in Spain this Christmas, while India launch could take place in 2022-23. The new model has been spotted at Suzuki’s factory yard Esztergom, Hungary.
Clear images of the 2022 Suzuki S-Cross have been leaked on the Internet. These high resolution images reveal that the new model is bigger and bolder than the existing model. While the current model looks like a crossover, the new model has bolder and SUV-ish design.
The 2022 Suzuki S-Cross looks bigger and wider, which should help the Japanese automaker to create more space inside the cabin. The latest images also reveal that the new model could get ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System)/ There are couple of sensors on the lower half of the bumper.
The ADAS system will offer features like adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, blind spot detection, lane keep assist, etc. It is early to comment whether Maruti Suzuki will offer ADAS in the India-spec model or not.
The new S-Cross comes with a completely re-designed front fascia, featuring a more muscular hood and a bigger bumper. It gets a new larger hexagonal grille that has two horizontal chrome slats, and an all-new projector headlamps with LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps). If reports are to be believed, the new model could get Matrix headlamps that uses individual LEDs and can be turn on or off independently. There will be a camera mounted in front of the SUV that can detect the oncoming traffic and turn off LEDs.
The new bumper has new fog lamp housing that also accommodates turn indicators. It gets new 5-spoke alloy wheels and plastic cladding all-around the body. It also gets new tail-gate and split tail-lights and new bumper that has black plastic with a faux skid plate.
Suzuki is focusing on electrification, and the new S-Cross could receive major improvements in terms of hybrid tech. It will receive major improvements in terms of hybrid tech. The new model will receive light hybrid technology to achieve European emission norms. Called the SHVS (Suzuki Hybrid Vehicle System), the new mild-hybrid system will be coupled with petrol engine.
The new model is expected to feature a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a 48-volt system. Transmission options could include a 6-speed manual and an automatic gearbox. It is also likely to get Suzuki’s AllGrip 4×4 drive system.
The 1.5L engine is capable of producing 103bhp and 138Nm of torque. The crossover could also receive a 1.4L Boosterjet turbo engine that offers 127bhp and 235Nm of torque.
