It seems that Maruti Suzuki has started dispatching the new-generation Maruti Celerio to its dealers across the nation. The recent spy images reveal the bigger dimensions and angular stance of the model. Based on Suzuki’s Heartect platform, the new 2022 Maruti Celerio features newly-designed, triangular-shaped headlamps and fog lamp assembly with black surroundings.
The hatchback has a new oval grille with honeycomb pattern with a chrome strip connecting the headlamps. The turn indicators are integrated into the ORVMs. The side profile has been revised with the new set of alloy wheels, bigger window area, angular side creases and long tapering roofline. The existing pull-type door handles are replaced with the conventional flap-type units. The new Celerio comes with the new wraparound taillamps.
Noticeable changes will also be made to its interior. Though, details are yet to be revealed. If reports are to be believed, the new Maruti Celerio 2022 will have an entirely new dashboard along with the new seat upholstery, instrument cluster and steering wheel. Rumour has it that the carmaker might equip the new-generation Celerio with a touchscreen infotainment system that will come with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Major updates are likely to be made under the hood as well. Reports suggest that the new Maruti Celerio 2022 will source its power from a new 1.0L, 3-cylinder K10C Dualjet petrol engine delivering fuel economy of 26kmpl (best-in-segment). The existing 69bhp, 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol motor could be dropped from the model lineup.
The new 2022 Maruti Celerio prices will be announced in the coming weeks (possibility on 10th November 2021). It’s expected to see a minor price hike. At present, the hatchback comes in the price range of Rs 4.56 lakh – Rs 6.00 lakh. The model lineup includes two CNG variants – VXI CNG and VXI CNG Optional – priced at Rs 5.94 lakh and Rs 6.00 lakh. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom.
