London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC) is planning to launch the LEVC TX in the Indian market. Also known as the London Taxi, the new electric model is likely to generate significant job opportunities in the country. LEVC has partnered with Exclusive Motor private limited to enter in our market.
In fact, LEVC has unveiled the electric TX at its new dealership in New Delhi. The LEVC TX electric vehicle features a powerful electric motor. This powertrain has a large battery, which is recharged using an external power source. The London Taxi comes fitted with a small combustion engine, which produces electricity and extend the range. This range-extender combustion engine does not power the vehicle nor recharge the battery.
The electric motor is recharged by a volvo-sourced 81bhp, 1.5L, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. It can also be charged externally via charge connectors on both sides of the grille. The LEVC TX comes equipped with a LG Chem sourced 33kWh battery pack, which powers the 110kW electric motor. On lower battery, the petrol engine provides charge to the battery,
Featuring eCity technology, the LEVC TX electric taxi is claimed to offer a driving range of 101km and a flexible range of over 510km. It is a six seater electric taxi car that supports wheelchair friendly entrance. Adding to it, there is a partition that separates the driver from the occupants. It is claimed to offer a very good turning radius of 8.45 metres.
