2022 Maruti Baleno High On Features – 11 New Additions

The Maruti Suzuki Baleno premium hatchback was first launched in 2015 and received a mid-life update in 2019. Now, the company is ready to give a generation change to the model. The all-new Baleno is ready to hit showrooms on 23rd February 2022. Interested buyers can pre-book the new model at any Nexa dealership across the country. This time around, the hatchback will witness comprehensive design changes and feature upgrades along with updated powertrain system. The new Baleno will be the first vehicle in its segment to offer a 360 degree camera and Heads-Up display (HUD). The latter one will show information such as climate control, speed, time, real time fuel efficiency and rev counter. The automaker has confirmed that the hatchback will have a new 9.0-inch free-standing touchscreen information system called – SmartPlay Pro+. The new unit will support wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

While the new 2022 Maruti Baleno will miss out on a digital instrument cluster, it gets a new flat-bottom steering sourced from the Swift. The automaker will also equip the hatchback with the wireless phone charging system compatible with Alexa voice commands and connected car tech. The higher trims will be exclusively offered with 6 airbags, cruise control and electronic stability program.

In order to make it safer, the Indo-Japanese automaker is likely to make changes to its body panels and chassis along with using thicker grade of steel. The hatchback will use the same 83bhp, 1.2L petrol and 90bhp, 1.2L Dualjet petrol engine with mild hybrid tech. With this update, the new Baleno will comply with the upcoming CAFÉ 2 (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) norms. Both manual and automatic gearboxes will be on offer. Though, the CVT unit will be replaced with the AMT unit.
