The 2022 Maruti Baleno is scheduled to be launched in the country on February 23. The company has released multiple teasers revealing the touchscreen unit, heads-up display and 360 degree view camera. The latest teaser video confirms that the new Baleno will come with a comprehensive suite of connected car features.
Maruti Suzuki is already offering Suzuki connect tech with the existing models; however, the new Baleno will come with an upgraded system. The 2022 Maruti Baleno will have the upgraded connected car tech, which will also offer Amazon Alexa support. The new system will allow customers to use voice commands via Alexa devices. This system is similar to the one offered in the fifth generation Honda City.
The teaser further confirms that the new connected car tech will support voice commands via the owner’s smartwatch. The 2022 Maruti Baleno will come with segment-first 360 degree camera. The new model is fitted with a new larger 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment system. This system is jointly developed by Suzuki and Toyota. The infotainment unit is compatible with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Variants & Colours
The new Baleno will be offered in 4 trim levels – Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. All the variants, except Sigma, will come with manual and AMT gearbox options. The new model will come in 6 colour options – Opulent Red, Grandeur Grey, Celestial Blue, Pearl Arctic, Grandeur Grey and Splendid Silver.
In terms of proportions, the 2022 Maruti Baleno is 3,990mm in length, 1,745mm in width and 1,500mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,520mm. The hatchback offers a boot space of 318-litres and a fuel tank of 37-litres capacity.
The Maruti Baleno facelift will come with two engine options – a 83bhp, 1.2L NA petrol and a 90bhp, 1.2L dualjet with 12V mild hybrid system. It will come with a Swift-like single clutch automatic or AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) instead of a CVT (was offered in previous model).
