Maruti Suzuki had launched the significantly revised Baleno hatchback in the country last month. The new model comes with revised styling, significantly revised interior and improved safety features. The 2022 Maruti Baleno is available in the price bracket of Rs 6.35 lakh to Rs 9.49 lakh (ex-showroom). MSIL is also providing the hatchback under subscription plan starting at Rs 13,999 (including insurance, maintenance, vehicle registration and road side assistance).
The new 2022 Maruti Baleno is an instant hit, as it recorded over 50,000 bookings in just 44 days. Maruti had opened bookings for the new model on February 7, 2022. With rising bookings, the new Baleno currently commands a waiting period of close to 3-4 months. Maruti Suzuki is increasing its production capacity to meet the rising demand.
2022 Maruti Baleno Specifications
The new Baleno is offered in a single petrol engine that’s 1.2-litre 4-cylinder Dualjet unit. This powertrain is capable of producing 89bhp of power and 113Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and an AMT. It is claimed to return an ARAI certified fuel economy of 22.95kmpl.
CNG Version Coming Soon
Maruti Suzuki will soon launch the CNG version of the Baleno hatchback in the country. The CNG model will come with the same 1.2L Dualjet engine with a factory-fitted CNG kit. The power and torque will receive a marginal decline. Not just Baleno, the new Toyota Glanza will also receive the CNG variant. The new CNG versions will return a fuel efficiency of 25km/kg.
2022 Maruti Baleno Key Details
The new Maruti Baleno hatchback is available in 6 exterior colours – Opulent Red, Grandeur Grey, Celestial Blue, Pearl Arctic, Grandeur Grey and Splendid Silver. It gets a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay support, Amazon Alexa support and navigation along with Arkamys sound system.
In terms of features, the hatchback gets heads-up display, a 360-degree camera, automatic AC, LED fog lamps, rear AC vents, height adjustable driver seat and Suzuki Connect tech with more than 40 features. Safety features include 6 airbags, ESP (Electronic Stability Program), ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child sseat anchorage, etc.
