2022 Mahindra Scorpio – Dual-tone Leather Seats, Flat Bottom Steering

The home-grown carmaker is planning to roll out a couple of new SUVs by the end of this year. While the new Mahindra Bolero Neo is reported to launch by September, the 7-seater Mahindra XUV700 will arrive by October 2021. The next in the lineup will be the second-generation Mahindra Scorpio that’s likely to hit roads in early 2022. Currently, the carmaker is extensively testing the vehicle across different terrains and climatic conditions.

The latest set of spy pictures reveals interesting interior details of the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio. The SUV gets an entirely new dashboard with a new touchscreen infotainment system. The info unit will support the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You can also notice the vertically positioned air-con vents on either side. The centre console integrated control buttons look similar to the new Thar. One of its major attractions is the dual-tone tan brown and black leatherette upholstery. It also enhances its feel and appeal.

2022 Mahindra Scorpio Infotainment

The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio has a multifunctional, flat bottom steering wheel. There is a semi-digital instrument console featuring two analogue dials for tacho and speedometer. A digital MID is situated between the dials. The chrome treatment around the air con vents, centre console, door levers and steering wheel further adds to its new look. A large rotary dial is placed behind the gear shifter. It enables select driving modes – Mud, Snow, Rock and 4 High and Low for 4WD system.

The SUV’s new-generation model is reported to come with a factory-fitted electric sunroof. Some of its other key features will include connected car technology, a dual zone climate control, driver side armrest, forward facing third row and a Micro Hybrid function engine start/stop.

2022 Mahindra Scorpio front spied

In terms of powertrains, the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio is likely to be offered with 2.0L mStallion petrol and 2.2L mHawk diesel motors. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. The higher trims will be exclusively offered with 4WD (four-wheel drive) system.
