Hyundai Creta Facelift Imagined; Inspired By New Santa Fe

The current generation Hyundai Creta was launched in 2020 in the Indian market. It is currently the best-selling model in its segment, recording an average monthly sales of over 12,000 units. The mid-sized SUV was first introduced in China in 2019 as the new ix25, which is already 2.5 years old.

It is reported that the Chinese-spec ix25 will receive a mild makeover in the next few months. Digital Artist, Kleber Silva has released new renderings which shows the possible design changes in the Creta facelift. The designer has imagined the Creta facelift front as a new Santa Fe.

The front grille design is similar to the one offered in the new generation Santa Fe, which is on sale in the select international markets. It gets chrome studded front grille in hexagonal shape, and split headlamp setup. The main rectangular-shaped headlamp looks like a part of the grille. The LED DRls are placed on top of the grille, which is also sourced from the Santa Fe.

The rear has also been updated with design inspirations from new Santa Fe and the Tucson. The rear tail-lights are similar to the one offered in the Santa Fe in the global markets. There is a red bar that connects the two wrap-around Y-shaped tail-lamps. Lower bumper is also inspired by the new Santa Fe.

Korean automaker, Hyundai has started testing the upgraded version of the Tucson in India. The spotted model was heavily camouflaged; however, it is visible that the design changes will be influenced by new Tucson and the Santa Fe. It is expected that the new Creta could receive new features including autonomous tech.

If reports are to be believed, the new Hyundai Creta could get a mild hybrid technology. The existing model is available in 3 engine options – a 113bhp, 1.5L NA petrol, a 113bhp, 1.5L turbocharged diesel and a 138bhp, 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual, a CVT automatic, a 6-speed torque convertor automatic and a 7-speed DCT.
