Homegrown UV maker, Mahindra is gearing up for the launch of the 7-seater XUV700. The company has already revealed the prices of the 5-seater derivative of th SUV. Not just XUV700, Mahindra is preparing the new generation Scorpio that has been caught testing again. The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio will be launched in the first half of 2022, most probably around February-March.
The latest spy video reveals the interiors of the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio. The spotted model looks like the top-spec 7-seater variant, which is fitted with an automatic gearbox. It has slightly different interior compared to the cabin of the previous spied models.
The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio comes with all-new interior with a completely different dashboard, which is dominated by a new touchscreen infotainment system. There are vertically stacked air con vents with piano-black finish, which are placed on either sides of the infotainment. Hard plastic is clearly visible on the dashboard, central console and on the door panels.
The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio will have a forward facing third-row of seats, which is also visible in the video. The current model only has side facing third row of seats; however, this configuration could be offered in the entry-level variants. Similar to the XUV700, the new Scorpio could also get a 5-seater derivative. The vehicle won’t have panoramic sunroof. It will have an electric sunroof.
Chrome treatment can be seen around the central console, which adds a premium touch to the cabin. The vehicle gets an analogue instrument console with a digital multi-information display placed between two concentric dials. The video reveals 4 roof mounted speakers, dual-tone leatherette upholstery and a multi-functional steering wheel. Features of the new Scorpio includes C-type USB charging points, a 12V socket, dual-zone climate control, rear AC vents, engine start/stop button, a 360-degree parking camera, etc.
For safety and security, the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio will get multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, hill assist control, ESC (Electronic Stability Control), rear parking camera and a rear parking sensors. The new Mahindra Scorpio will be offered with two engine options – a 2.0L turbocharged petrol with power output close to 150bhp, and a 2.2L turbo-diesel engine with close to 158bhp power. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. The SUV will get AWD or 4×4 option.
