2022 Kia Sonet – 4 Airbags Standard, More Features, New Colours

Kia India has introduced the updated Sonet subcompact SUV in the country. The 2022 model year receives four airbags as standard safety fitment along with a few more features and two new colour schemes. The 2022 Kia Sonet HTX+ variant is now available with the curtain airbags, which was earlier offered only on the range-topping GTX+ trim. The HTK+ iMT variant has been equipped with hill assist control (HAC), electronic stability control (ESC) and vehicle stability management (VMS). The automaker has also made the tyre pressure monitoring system standard across the model lineup. The HTK variant receives a digital instrument cluster. On the exterior, the 2022 Kia Sonet features a new ‘Sonet’ badge. The SUV model lineup has been offered in new Imperial Blue and Sparkling Silver paint schemes.

Engine options of the new 2022 Kia Sonet remains unchanged. The subcompact SUV continues to come with the 83bhp, 1.2L petrol, 120bhp, 1.0L turbo petrol and 115bhp, 1.5L diesel engines. There are five gearboxes on offer – a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed iMT, a 6-speed automatic and a 7-speed dual clutch automatic.

Prices of the updated Kia Sonet start from Rs 7.15 lakh and go up to Rs 13.79 lakh. While the petrol variants are available within the price range of Rs 7.15 lakh – Rs 13.19 lakh, the diesel models cost between Rs 8.89 lakh – Rs 13.79 lakh. The model lineup includes nine automatic variants that can be had within the price range of Rs 11.19 lakh – Rs 13.79 lakh. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom. Compared to the previous model, the updated one is around Rs 20,000 – Rs 30,000 more expensive.
