2022 Kia Seltos – New Variants, Feature Upgrades Explained

Kia will soon introduce the updated Seltos and Sonet SUVs in the country. Both models will receive new variants and features along with colour revisions. The new 2022 Kia Seltos model lineup comes in two trims – HT and GT Line. Now, the company has added a new mid-spec HTK+ trim with petrol engine and iMT gearbox combination. It has been positioned between the HTK+ MT and HTX MT variants.

The HTX trim is now available with 6-speed automatic gearbox. Earlier, it was reserved for the range-topping GTX+ and X-Line trims. The new Seltos also becomes India’s first car to offer diesel-iMT combination on the mid-level HTK+ variant that costs Rs 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

Furthermore, the new 2022 Kia Seltos gets four airbags (front and side), hill assist control, electronic stability control, vehicle stability management, tyre pressure monitoring system and brake assist as standard safety fitments. The HTX+ and GTX (O) trims are now available with 6 airbags (front, side and curtain). The HTE, HTK and KTK+ petrol variants have been equipped with rear disc brakes. The HTX CVT and automatic variants are offered with paddle shifters, which were until now available on the top-send GTX+ and X-Line trims. The former two get a drive mode selector as well. The South Korean automaker has introduced the Kia UVO button with new ‘Connect’ name, IRVM with red finish and redesigned 16-inch wheel covers. The X-Line variants have an ‘X-Line’ embossing on the headrests. The company has also tuned the SUV’s suspension units.

While the new Kia Seltos 2022 dropped the Steel Silver and Intelligency Blue, Punch Orange with White roof, Steel Silver with Orange roof and Glacier White Pearl with Orange roof colours. While the monotone shades are replaced by the Sparkline Silver and Imperial Blue and the SUV gets Granite Grey with Black roof dual-tone paint scheme.

No mechanical changes have been made to the new Seltos’ model lineup. It continues to come with the 1.5L petrol, 1.4L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel engines. Prices of the new Seltos start from Rs 10.19 lakh and go up to Rs 18.45 lakh (all, ex-showroom).
