The new 2022 Kia Seltos facelift was recently launched in the South Korean market. Prices of the SUV’s new model start from 20.6 million Won, which is around Rs 12.57 lakh. According to a fresh media report, the updated Seltos might be introduced in India next month (i.e. August 2022). The India-spec model, however, will be different from the one that’s retailed in South Korea. Most of the changes will be cosmetic along with a few feature upgrades. The new Seltos is likely to come with the existing engine setup.
Upfront, the new Seltos facelift features a low-slung grille with twin headlamp clusters and LED DRLs. It has slightly revised front bumper and a new faux skid plate. Save for the newly-designed alloy wheels, no changes have been made to its side profile. At the back, the SUV carries an updated bumper and new taillamps. The India-spec model is relatively smaller and taller than the version sold in Korea.
The all-black and caramel interior theme looks sporty. Its Gravity variant can be had in the midnight green scheme. Reports suggest that the SUV might get a panoramic sunroof and 6 airbags (as standard) in India. If it happens, the new Seltos will meet the government’s new safety rule of making 6 airbags mandatory for all vehicles with seating capacity of up to 8 occupants.
Here, the new Seltos should retain its existing engine setup that includes a 114bhp, 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol, a 138bhp, 1.4L turbo petrol and a 114bhp, 1.5L turbo diesel unit. With the mid-life update, the SUV might receive the mild hybrid technology that will make it more fuel efficient.
