2022 Hyundai Venue Facelift: What To Expect

Hyundai has started testing the new Venue facelift in South Korea. In fact, the first camouflaged test mule of the 2022 Hyundai Venue sub-4 meter SUV has been spotted in the home market. The new model is likely to receive cosmetic changes to exterior as well as interior; however, mechanics are likely to remain the same.

2022 Hyundai Venue – Tucson-like Face

The new Hyundai Venue is likely to receive a re-designed front fascia, which will have brand’s new signature styling. Similar to the recently teased Creta facelift, the 2022 Hyundai Venue will most likely to come with Tucson-inspired front fascia. The sub-compact SUV is likely to receive newly-designed parametric grille, which we have already seen on the new Tucson.

The new model will have new rectangular shaped headlamp units, which will be placed lower to the bumper. The LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps) are expected to look like the new Tucson. The LED DRLs will look like a part of grille. The SUV will receive updated bumpers, new alloy wheels and revised tail-lights. The overall profile and styling will remain identical to the existing model.

Updated Interior

Details about the interior changes are yet to be revealed. It is expected to receive minor changes in the form of new colour scheme and upholstery. Hyundai could also add new features that are missing in the current model.

Engine Options – No Change

The Venue facelift is most likely to retain the existing engine set-up comprising of a 1.2L NA petrol, a 1.0L turbocharged petrol and a 1.5L turbo-diesel. While the 1.2L NA engine produces 83bhp and 113Nm of torque, the turbo unit is good for 118bhp and 175Nm of torque. The turbo-diesel engine produces 99bhp and 240Nm of torque.

Transmission choices include a 5-speed MT with 1.2L petrol, a 6-speed MT as standard, an iMT and 7-speed DCT with 1.0L turbo-unit. Similar to the Sonet, the Venue diesel could also receive an automatic gearbox option. With 6AT, this engine should offer 113bhp and 250Nm of torque.

2022 Hyundai Venue Launch Timeline

The new Venue is likely to be unveiled in the first quarter of 2022, while India launch expected in mid-2022. It will rival the likes of the Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Vitara Brezza and the Toyota Urban Cruiser.
