The fourth-generation Hyundai Tucson has finally been launched in India. The SUV model lineup has been offered in two trims – Platinum and Signature – powered by the 2.0L petrol (156PS/192Nm) and 2.0L diesel (186PS/416Nm) engines. Transmission choices include a 6-speed automatic and an 8-speed automatic. Prices of the new 2022 Hyundai Tucson start from Rs 27.7 lakh (ex-showroom).
Similar to the Alcazar, the new 2022 Hyundai Tucson will be retailed via the brand’s Signature dealerships.
One of the major updates comes in the form of the ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) suite. It includes blind spot assist, rear cross traffic alert, forward collision warning, lane keep assists and more. The 2022 Hyundai Tucson gets a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system placed on the dashboard with a piano black surround. The list of features also includes a panoramic sunroof, 64 colour ambient lighting, air purifier, dual zone climate control, heated and ventilated front seats, wireless smartphone charging, 360 degree cameras, rain sensing wipers, electric adjustment for driver’s seat with memory function, BlueLink connected car features with OTA (over-the-air) updates, reclining rear seats, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, Alexa and Google assistant, voice commands, powered tailgate, etc.
Hyundai says that the new Tucson has been packed with over 45 active and passive safety features including 6 airbags (dual front, side & curtain airbags), hill assist control, hill descent control, front and rear parking sensors, all disc brakes, electronic stability control and blind-spot view monitor.
Compared to the previous generation, the new 2022 Hyundai Tucson is 150mm longer, 15mm wider and 5mm taller. It measures 4680mm in length, 1865mm in width and 1665mm in height. Its wheelbase has been stretched by 85mm.
