The 2022 Hyundai Elantra N, the performance-oriented version of the sedan, has been revealed via official images. Painted in Performance Blue colour scheme, the model carries sportier design bits along with a more powerful engine. The carmaker claims that the Elantra N can do 0 to 60mph in 5.3 seconds and offers a maximum speed of 155mph. It comes with the launch control. While the limited slip differential directs power at the front axle, the 19-inch N-specific wheels with 245/35-series Michelin Pilot Sport 4S summer tyres provide amble grip at corners.
Compared to the standard model, the hot sedan has quicker steering ratio and stiffer suspension. Features such as 14.1-inch front rotors with upgraded brake pads, lightweight front and improved cooling ducts further enhance its performance. Inside, the 2022 Hyundai Elantra N Line has bolstered sport seats along with a 10.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity and several driver assistance features.
Visually, the 2022 Hyundai Elantra N appears sportier than the regular model. Some of its key design elements include a chin spoiler, red side sill extensions, a pronounced diffuser with larger exhaust pipes and a small rear wing.
The performance-oriented Elantra N might be first launched in South Korea, followed by other markets. In the US, the hot sedan is likely to arrive sometime next year. Its prices are expected to start from $35,000, thus making it more affordable than the Honda Civic Type R.
