The trademark and patent images of the new-gen Honda Civic have already been leaked on the Internet. Design artist Kleber Silva has released a couple of renderings of the new 2022 Honda Civic, which suggests how the new sedan could look at the time of its unveiling in May 2021.
The patent images confirm that the 11th generation 2022 Honda Civic will have simpler and less aggressive design. The current model has angular headlamps, while the new model will have flat edges and there is a line that runs along the top of the lamps and through the grille. It features a narrow grille placed right below the Honda badge, having honeycomb pattern and a separate air intake placed in the centre of the lower bumper.
The render also suggests that the fog lamps will be placed right at the corners of the lower bumper. The rear of the new 2022 Honda Civic sedan has sloping roof, which gives a coupe-like profile. The Civic hatchback has a differently styled tail-lamp unit, which are connected by a single light strip. The sedan has wrap-around LED tail-lamps.
The leaked trademark images reveal that the new 2022 Honda Civic will have simple dashboard with a space for an infotainment system at the very top of the centre console. The HVAC controls are expected to be placed below the infotainment system. The global-spec model is likely to feature the 1.0L turbocharged and 1.5 VTEC turbocharged petrol engines with CVT units. The company could also offer the 2.0L naturally-aspirated petrol engine. The new Civic will be unveiled in the first half of 2021 and will be introduced in the second half or early 2022.
