Ford’s popular fully-fledged Everest SUV (Endeavour SUV) is ready to enter into its next generation sometime next year. The American automaker has already started testing the new model on foreign land. Here’re 5 key changes (based on the spy pictures and reports) that will be made to the 2022 Ford Endeavour.
Bigger Than Before
The latest spy pictures reveal that the new Endeavour will grow in size. However, the details are unavailable at the moment. The current generation model measures 4903mm in length, 1869mm in width and 1837mm in height with a wheelbase of 2850mm. Compared to the Toyota Fortuner, the existing Endeavour is longer, wider, taller and slightly more spacious.
Updated Platform
The 2022 Ford Endeavour will be designed on the slightly updated ladder frame platform, which is already used in the new Ford Ranger. The same architecture will underpin the global-spec new Volkswagen Amarok pickup truck.
Ranger Inspired Design
In terms of design and styling, the new-generation Endeavour (Ford Everest) will be much evolved than the current model. Some of its body panels are likely to be inspired by the next-gen Ford Ranger that will share design bits with the recently unveiled F150 Raptor. Off-Road Focused Variant
If reports are to be believed, the new Ford Endeavour 2022 model lineup will get a new off-road focused Wildtrack X variant. The SUV will come in 6 trims (Ambinete, Trend, Trend Sport, Wildtrack X, Titanium and Platinum) and 2 drivetrain (2WD and 4WD) options. The new Everest Wildtrack X model will feature sportier design bits along with the new 3.0L engine and 4WD system. There is no clarity whether the India-spec new Endeavour will get the new variant or not.
Hybrid Powertrain
Speculations are on rife that the 2022 Ford Endeavour will come with the 2.0L, 4-cylinder twin turbo EcoBlue diesel engine. The same motor is available in India with a single turbo version. The more powerful 3.0L V6 diesel motor will be exclusively offered on the top-end trims. All variants of the SUV will get a 10-speed automatic gearbox. A hybrid powertrain might also be introduced on the SUV model lineup at a later stage.
