The American automaker has started testing the new 2022 Ford EcoSport facelift in the country. The first set of its spy pictures has already hit the internet revealing front design details. Here’s a fresh digital rendering that previews a possible final design of the updated model. The rendered model carries a completely revised front fascia.
Compared to the current model, the new one features a larger grille with chrome embellishments. The newly-designed headlamps are connected via a chrome strip running just above the grille. The sharply designed LED DRLs and turn indicators, wider lower air dam, silver coloured skid plate and revised bumper further enhance its new look . The fog lamp assembly has also been updated.
The side profile looks more or less similar to the existing model. Though, you can notice a new set of alloy wheels. The rear section features sharper creases and cuts with a newly-designed spare wheel mounted on the tailgate. It seems inspired by the new Ford Equator SUV. It has redesigned split LED taillamps, which are connected via a reflector bar. The revised rear bumper features silver coloured skid plate and twin exhaust tips.
Minimal changes are likely to be made to its interior. The new 2022 Ford EcoSport facelift might get Ford’s SYNC 3 infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. It will offer an 8-inch touchscreen. Most of the features will remain intact.
In India, the new 2022 Ford EcoSport facelift is reported to be offered with the same engine setup that does duty in the current model. The petrol version will use the 1.5L, 3-cylinder TiVCT motor that’s good enough for 122bhp and 149Nm, the 1.5L TDCi diesel mill returns a claimed power of 100bhp and 215Nm of torque. A 6-speed automatic gearbox will continue to be reserved for the petrol variants and 6-speed manual transmission will be standard across the model lineup.
