French automaker, Citroen is all set to launch the much-awaited C3 hatchback in the Indian market on July 20, 2022. After launching the new C3, Citroen will launch the C5 Aircross facelift in the country by September 2022. The new Citroen C5 Aircross is already on sale in select international markets. The SUV was launched in our market in 2021 via the SKD or semi-knocked-down route.
In the global markets, the C5 Aircross facelift is offered with a 1.5-litre diesel, petrol and petrol-hybrid options. The company has discontinued the 2.0-litre diesel engine from the global model. However, the India-spec model will continue to be offered with the existing 177bhp, 2.0-litre diesel engine. The C5 Aircross is the only product in its category to offer diesel engine option. Its direct rivals including the Tiguan and the Kodiaq are only offered petrol engine. Hyundai will also launch the new-gen Tucson with petrol and diesel engine options. The C5 Aircross’ diesel engine will continue to be offered with an 8-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox.
Citroen C5 Aircross Facelift Top Changes
The updated Citroen C5 Aircross comes with a significantly revised front fascia, featuring a more traditional look. Instead of the split headlamp look, the new model gets a single-piece wraparound unit with LED DRL signature. The lower bumper has large air-dam, flanked by vents for improved aerodynamics. The SUV gets new alloy wheels and revised tail-lamps with rectangular lighting elements & darkened finish.
The cabin of the new C5 Aircross has received noticeable changes. It comes with a larger, 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The air con vents design has also been altered and are now positioned below the screen. The touch-based switchgears are now placed below the air-con vents. The gear lever for the automatic gearbox is now replaced by a toggle switch unit. The SUV is claimed to offer better cushioned front seats with 15mm additional paddling. The front sets also come with heating and cooling functions. The SUV also gets additional USB ports and wireless charging.
