The long-awaited 2022 Maruti Brezza will go on sale in the Indian market on June 30, 2022. The new model will come with revised styling and an all-new interior along with new engine and gearbox options. We reported earlier that Maruti Suzuki will also introduce the CNG version of the Brezza. Ahead of the official launch, the 2022 Maruti Brezza CNG model has been spotted in the country.
It is expected that Maruti Suzuki could introduce the Brezza CNG version alongside the regular variants on June 30, 2022. However, MSIL is yet to make an official announcement on the same. Not just Brezza, Maruti Suzuki will also introduce the CNG version of the recently launched Baleno hatchback. Maruti Suzuki is looking at CNG, flex-fuel and hybrid powertrains as an alternative to diesel. The company will have CNG variant for every model in the near future.
The new Brezza will be powered by a new 1.5-litre K15C petrol engine that powers the new Ertiga and the XL6. This engine is capable of producing 103bhp and 137Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. The Brezza CNG will get the same powertrain with a factory-fitted CNG kit. This engine is likely to produce around 87bhp of power and 121Nm of torque. It will only be offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
2022 Maruti Brezza – Key Details
The new Maruti Brezza will be based on the modified version of the existing Global C platform. The company will make some changes to make the platform stronger. Moreover, the bodyshell of the SUV will also receive changes. The SUV will retain the original boxy styling; however, it will have new body panels and design elements. The spy images reveal that the new Brezza will have a new front fascia, featuring a completely new grille, new bumper and updated headlamp clusters. The SUV will get new 16-inch alloy wheels, and a new tailgate with redesigned tail-lamps, and new bumper.
For safety and security, the 2022 Maruti Brezza is likely to get up to 6 airbags, electronic stability control, hill hold assist, TPMS (tyre pressure monitoring system), ABS with EBD, a 360 degree camera and otehrs. It will come with all-new interior with better quality material and improved fit & finish. The SUV will get a large touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. Feature list will include a twin-dial instrument console, Heads-Up Display (HUD), new-gen telematics, a sunroof, a flat-bottom steering wheel, paddle shifters with automatic version and others.
